Welcome To Benue State Enviromental Sanitation Authorithy

In 2005, the Benue State Environmental Sanitation Authority (BENSESA) was created by merging the health department of the Benue State Urban Development Board and the Benue State Environmental Protection Agency. This unified approach aimed to more effectively address environmental sanitation and public health issues in the state.Benue State Environmental Sanitation Agency (BENSESA) is the government body responsible for maintaining a clean and healthy environment in Benue State, Nigeria. BENSESA’s core mission centers around promoting proper sanitation and waste management practices to safeguard public health and create a sustainable environment. They achieve this through a variety of initiatives, including waste collection and disposal, public awareness campaigns, enforcement of environmental regulations, and collaboration with communities and stakeholders. Ultimately, BENSESA strives to improve the overall well-being of Benue State residents by ensuring a cleaner, healthier place to live.

Enviromental Sanitation Routines

Benue State Enviromental Sanitation Authority's systematic and scheduled set of activities aimed at maintaining cleanliness, preventing environmental hazards, and promoting public health.

Sanitation Days

The last Saturday of every Month has been marked as the general enviromental Sanitation day in Benue State. This is Compulsory.

Sanitation Time

The general clean up activities on each sanitation day shall be carried out between the hours of 07:00am to 09:00am in the morning.

Sanitation Restrictions

There shall be restriction of movement of persons during the given time except to persons of essential services or authorize by the ministry

Sanitation Offence

It is an offence to the Enviromental Sanitation Authority if one fails to curtail his movement as provided above and shall be held guilty of the offence.

Penalty for Violation

Anyone found guilty of the offence shall be liable to conviction to fine of not less than N2,000.00 or imprisonment for a term of three months or both.

Power Of Arrest

Anyone who commits a an offence under this Law may be arrested by an Environmental Health Officer or Police Personnel or any authorized person.

BENSESA's Office Locations

Our offices serves the primary purpose of promoting and enforcing environmental sanitation policies in Benue State.

Makurdi Office

BENSESA has a head office in Makurdi, the state capital. it is located at JS Tarkaa way, High Level Makudi. The Head offices opens at 8:00am and closes at 4:00pm Daily.

Gboko Office

BENSESA has a branch office at Gboko, Benue state. It is located at JS Tarkaa way, High Level Makudi. The Branch offices opens at 8:00am and closes at 4:00pm Daily.

Kastina-Ala Office

BENSESA has a branch office at Kastin-Ala, Beneu state . it is located at JS Tarkaa way, High Level Makudi. The Branch offices opens at 8:00am and closes at 4:00pm Daily.
