As the Head of Accounts, I am dedicated to ensuring transparent and efficient financial management that supports our core mission which is, promoting a clean, safe, and healthy environment across the state. Benue State Environmental Sanitation Authority (BENSESA) Accounts Department is a crucial part of the agency, responsible for managing all financial aspects to support its mission of maintaining a clean and healthy environment in Benue State.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Financial Planning and Budgeting: The department prepares and manages the agency’s annual budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to support various sanitation programs and initiatives.
  • Revenue Management: They oversee the collection of revenue from various sources, such as waste disposal fees, permits, and other services. This involves accurate record-keeping and ensuring transparency in all financial transactions.
  • Expenditure Control: The Accounts Department monitors and controls all expenditures, ensuring they align with the approved budget and comply with financial regulations. This includes processing payments to contractors, suppliers, and employees.
  • Financial Reporting: They generate regular financial reports, providing insights into the agency’s financial performance, including income, expenses, and budget variances. These reports are crucial for decision-making and accountability.
  • Auditing and Compliance: The department ensures compliance with all relevant financial regulations and conducts internal audits to maintain financial integrity and identify areas for improvement.

🌿 BENSESA's Environmental Cleanliness Guide

🗑️ 1. Proper Waste Disposal

Always dispose of trash in designated bins.
Littering in public places is strictly prohibited.

🌊 2. No Illegal Dumping

Dumping waste in rivers, forests, roadsides, or empty plots is forbidden.
These actions harm ecosystems and pollute vital resources.

đźš» 3. Use Sanitation Facilities

Urinating or defecating in open areas is not allowed.
Always use designated public or private toilets to maintain hygiene and dignity.

🔥 4. No Open Burning

Burning of garbage, leaves, or plastics in open areas is banned.
This practice causes severe air pollution and health hazards.

🌳 5. Protect Green Spaces

Do not damage or uproot plants, trees, or public gardens.
Tree cutting without official approval is illegal and punishable by law.


📢 6. Report Environmental Offences

Citizens are encouraged to be vigilant and report:

  • Illegal dumping

  • Open burning

  • Pollution activities
    Report such cases promptly to the relevant authorities.

Our regular cleaning efforts help maintain a clean and tidy Benue State. By consistently removing dirt, waste, and germs, we promote a healthier and more hygienic environment for everyone.
