As the Head of Department, I, Mr. Simon Chiahemba Tyozenda, am honored to lead a dedicated team focused on supporting the institution’s vision through strategic planning, evidence-based research, and accurate statistical reporting.

 Benue State Environmental Sanitation Authority (BENSESA) Environmental Planning, Research, and Statistics (EPRS) Department is the strategic and analytical arm of the agency. It provides the data-driven insights and planning necessary for effective environmental sanitation management in Benue State.

Here’s a description of their key functions:

  • Needs Assessment: The department conducts needs assessments to identify environmental sanitation challenges and prioritize areas for intervention.
  • Data Management: They manage the agency’s environmental sanitation data, ensuring its accuracy, integrity, and accessibility. This may involve developing and maintaining databases and information systems.
  • Geographic Information Systems (GIS): The department may utilize GIS technology to map environmental sanitation data and analyze spatial patterns of environmental health risks.
  • Collaboration and Networking: They collaborate with other research institutions, government agencies, and NGOs to share knowledge and expertise in environmental sanitation management.

In summary, the Planning, Research and statistics Departments  are the “think tank” and strategic planners for the agency.
